Article Introduction:
A wedding is something special, without a doubt – it indicates the bonding between two people, the union that is created between the two and the happiness that event brings to their lives. When people marry for the right reasons, everything seems similar to a dream, something like the best thing that ever happened to them, and this is why the reception and the ceremony should be perfect. We all have dreams about our weddings ever since we were children – we were imagining something similar to a Cinderella or a Sleeping Beauty of a story, not to mention the elegant reception, with everyone we care for being there, sharing our joy. In order to preserve this elegant reception, it would be recommended for you to think of all the details – including wedding favors.
Article Body:
The first thing I need to mention before we start discussing the use of wedding favors is that you should not feel obliged to use them on your wedding day. I mean, you should not feel obliged to do anything you feel it does not suit your wedding or your needs. Some times, people that have a tight budget for organizing their desired wedding need to drop off some of the details in order to afford the whole ceremony and the reception afterwards – what can I say, with wedding favors it is a relief since they are quite affordable for almost any budget.
Giving wedding favors is a elegant and wonderful mean to show your guests the gratitude they deserve for giving you their support on your wedding day. You see, being the married couple is one thing and it has its own percentage of happiness and joy, however, when you see a number of people (some of the close to your heart) being a part of your special day, showing you how happy they are for you – it is an indescribable feeling.
Wedding favors also act as great reminders of your special day – by handing them out to your guests, they will remember your wedding even as time passes. This is the reason many couples have considered wedding favors rather than typical greetings at the wedding reception – it is easier to make people remember that you tied the knot on July 16th, rather than through a simple greeting. Now, if you are wondering which type of wedding favors would suit your wedding best all you have to do is match your wedding theme to the layout of the favors. This if you do not want to consider unique or personalized wedding favors.

Find Physical Therapy Certification Programs in the United States and Canada. Prospective students who are interested in a career in physical therapy must first become certified and/or licensed in order to practice in the field. In most cases, graduates of an approved physical therapy certification program are eligible to take the National Physical Therapist Examination (NPTE) to become licensed and/or certified in their respective state of residence. If you’re a student in high school an excellent way to gain an understanding and relative experience in the field would be to volunteer as a school athletic trainer.
Whether individuals choose to pursue an Associate’s degree as a physical therapist assistant or are seeking higher education like a Master’s or Doctoral degree, physical therapy certification programs all begin with basic coursework in science including biology, chemistry and physics. Additional studies in a physical therapy certification program are human growth and development, pathology, biomechanics, and other associated subject matter.
Candidates who would like to pursue a Doctorate in a physical therapy certification program must meet certain academic prerequisites, including a Bachelor’s degree. Physical therapy certification programs such as this involve advanced coursework including human and clinical anatomy, histology, practice management, biomechanics, cardiovascular and pulmonary management, clinical pharmacology and nutrition, and primary care practice, among numerous other subjects of study.
Aside from hands-on training, students participating in physical therapy certification programs acquire a wealth of effective patient communication skills, and business education.
Candidates who have completed all required training and education, and who have attained physical therapy certification (and/or licensure) can enjoy a booming occupational field, as the growth potential of careers in physical therapy is expected to rise over the coming decade.
If you (or someone you know) are interested in attaining your physical therapy certification, let professional training within fast-growing industries like massage therapy, cosmetology, acupuncture, oriental medicine, Reiki, and others get you started! Explore career school programs near you.

The Brain Chemistry of Insomnia - Let’s Put an End to “midnight Madness”

The Brain Chemistry of Insomnia - Let’s Put an End to “Midnight Madness”
More than 53 million sleeping pill prescriptions are given per year. That’s a lot of people not sleeping. There are many more people taking the so-called “non addictive” sleeping medications which are sold over the counter. These statistics do not include the number of prescriptions for anxiety. What are the real issues behind insomnia and anxiety, and what can we do to stop “The Midnight Madness”?
Our Body Rhythms and Brain Chemistry
The body has natural rhythms that have evolved over thousands of years. These rhythms are governed by light and the absence of light. When the sun rises and your eyes get exposed to natural light, the optic nerve signals the release of many different brain chemicals. These brain chemicals are called neurotransmitters. Some of the neurotransmitters are exciting, produce vital energy and brain function where others are calming and cause relaxation and sleep.
The neurotransmitters that are calming and relaxing are produced by the absence of light. When these nighttime neurotransmitters become more dominant, the body becomes more relaxed, tired, and falls to sleep.
We are a society of “Stress Junkies” who are over worked and sleep deprived
We have a society of people who are working multiple jobs, raising families, and drinking tons of caffeine to push the body into a constant state of sheer exhaustion. The pushing, drive and over use of caffeine is like “trying to whip a little donkey up a hill when he has already carried 50 people up the mountain”. Eventually this over-pushing, will cause the body to be in a constant state of adrenal fatigue. It causes chronic exhaustion, fatigue, insomnia, anxiety and depression. Missing out on deep sleep can be damaging to our health because this is when most of the important repair work for organs and tissues happen.
Come out into the light! Don’t be a “Cave Dweller” living in the 21st century
This is the first time in history that masses of people work in offices, exercise indoors, and rarely see natural light. When we ask someone who works and exercises indoors, and drinks lots of caffeine, how well they sleep, 80% of those people will tell us they have some level of chronic insomnia, anxiety or depression. There are also many serious life situations that cause these problems as well. The main point is that the body has thousands of years of genetic adaptation to evolve into this level of sophisticated functioning. Now we are seeing what happens when we push ourselves too hard and live against the body’s natural cycles.
What to do to stop Insomnia
The sleep center at UCSF San Francisco highlights “SLEEP HYGIENE” as one of the most important aspects for curing insomnia. It includes going to bed before 10 pm, which is when certain hormones start elevating causing a “second wind.” They also recommend lying down, reading and relaxing. Reading is the best activity to do at this time (no action movies or scary novels). Reading also helps as it mimics the eye movement produced in REM sleep, which is one of the deepest levels of sleep.
Other tips to stop “The Midnight Madness”
• Yoga and meditation are quieting exercises that can also be used to relax and calm the body in the evening.
• Caffeine has a half-life of 12 hours in the body, so any chocolate, tea, and coffee consumed at noon or after is still affecting you at midnight. This includes decaf coffee (one cup of decaf coffee contains 6% caffeine.)
• Any strenuous exercise after 4 pm may be over stimulating to your adrenal glands, and turn on the stimulating neurotransmitters that may not allow your body relax enough to fall asleep.
• If you have been taking sleeping pills for a long time, go off them gradually and take natural products so you don’t have withdrawal symptoms and rebounding insomnia.
• All alcohol, especially red wine and hard alcohol are heating and inflaming to the body. It then can cause a histamine reaction that may over stimulate the brain and body tissues and cause insomnia.
Insomniacs of the World! There is hope for you
The most effective natural products that are used for sleep, anxiety and depression are Gaba, Taurine, Thenine, Valerian, and Melatonin. There are non-addictive and safe Chinese Herbal formulas that have been used for thousands of years. If these products are accompanied with the important sleep hygiene guidelines, you will notice that your sleep cycles will improve greatly in just a few weeks.
For people who have been taking prescription start increasing natural products, outdoor exercise, and go to bed early. If you have been taking prescription sleep medication for more than a few weeks, it is recommended that you wean off these medications slowly and gradually with the help of your doctor. For those with more chronic problems we recommend checking for thyroid, adrenal, and neurotransmitter imbalances.

My mom is a great lady, but she’s not a rocket scientist. What I mean is that no matter how smart she is, she’s literally not a rocket scientist. I was struggling in physics, and she wanted to help me really badly. I could tell that it was really hurting her that I was falling behind. To be honest, it was hurting me to see her hurting, too.
She works really hard to take care of me and my sister. She has two jobs that each are about thirty hours or so a week. She gets really grumpy sometimes because she’s overtired, and she told me before that she feels guilty most of the time that she can’t spend more time with us.
I worry about her sometimes, and I really need to pull through with my grades if I want to get a scholarship. She can’t afford to put me through college on her own. I’m no jock, so I really have to bring my best game in school so that I can get as many scholastic gifts as possible to help me get into college.
I have my own job, and I had been socking away some money to help out with college books and stuff as best as I could. I was doing some research online for a history paper when it hit me, there’s got to be something online that can help me get on track. Though I found lots of self help kits, eBooks, and stuff like that, I didn’t really find anything I could use.
I was searching for anything that might be able to help me translate physics into English. The formulas were dizzying, to say the least. One of my old girlfriends used to have a really hard time with her physics class last year, and she ended up fine. I decided that it was worth approaching her to ask for her secret. She wrote down TransWebTutors.com on the back of my book cover and told me that they were the only thing that worked for her.
When I went home and looked at all of the information that I could find about this service, I was nothing short of impressed. There were so many tutors available on this site that the live help was active every day, all day. They did physics, chemistry, math, economics, statistics, and test prep tutoring. This looked like what I needed.
I was all ready to tell my mom about the service when I thought to myself, why not just take care of it myself? I had my own money and she had enough to worry about. At first I was using TransWebTutors.com regularly throughout the week and whenever I needed extra help. Eventually I noticed the difference in my performance since I started with them, and that I was using them less and less often.
Today I am still using TransWebTutors.com whenever I am hitting a particular sticking point in my studies, and my mom still does not know. What she does know is that I am doing fine in school, and she does not have to worry about how to get me the help that I need. The best thing about it is that when we do get some time together, we don’t have to pour over my work and look for what I’m missing, we can just enjoy having a day off together.

Are You Finding Information on Natural and Organic Skin Care Confusing?
Filed Under Organic Chemistry | Leave a Comment
Wherever we look, whatever we read, there is a storey in the media about why we should buy natural and/or organic skin and personal care products because they are natural and therefore better for us.
Information on natural and organic skin care is very confusing to say the least. While we all know that we should avoid synthetic or artificial ingredients in our food and drinks, we are less well informed on the ingredients in our beauty and personal care products.
Frequently we hear that yet another ingredient found in skin care or personal care products is potentially dangerous to our health, but unless you’re well versed in chemistry, generally we have no idea on what to look for.
The key is to look at the ingredients in the products you are considering. Identify the herbs and essential oils that are listed, if any. These should be easy to recognise because they do not tend to be chemical names like: Formaldehyde, Sodium laurel sulphate, etc. They are names we easily recognize as plants, such as Lavender, Rose, Tea Tree, Chamomile, and so on. If the listed ingredients are difficult to read, chances are that they’re either isolated chemicals, possibly from a natural source, or more likely, they are synthetic/man-made chemicals that may potentially be harmful.
Herbs and essential oils are natural, usually safe ingredients and they may even be certified organic. In any case, at least you know that these are plant oils or herbal extracts obtained from plants, rather than isolated synthetically produced ingredients.
Another trick is to find out who makes the products. If it is a large company that mass produces products, there is a strong possibility that cosmetic chemists are at work, and that would suggest that not all the ingredients used in the products are going to be natural – especially not the emulsifiers, preservatives and fragrances.
Instead, look for small companies that are owned and run by medical herbalists, medical Aromatherapists or people with qualifications in Alternative medicine, because their philosophy is to produce safe, natural and effective products that do not harm your health.
The final thing you can do to establish the degree to which the products you are interested in are natural or not, is to ring the company and flat out ask. Are all your ingredients 100% natural? If they hum and ha…well, need I say more?
If you take time to look around you will find quality information on natural and organic skin and personal care products that is well worth reading and remembering, but nothing gives you greater confidence then doing your own research and asking some direct questions.

Organic Food Recipes
Filed Under Organic Chemistry | Leave a Comment
Is Organic Food really better? I believe it to be so. By buying organic fruits and vegetables will cut the amount of pesticides in your body by an unbelievable 90%.
In Canada, it has been said in Chatelaine September 2007 that: ‘no dairy product produced in Canada - organic or not - contain growth hormones.’ This is a good thing and thanks to a federal decision to ban bovine growth hormone. Some experts link high amounts of rbST to breast and prostate cancer. In Canada milk is so highly regulated that if even a trace of antibiotic is found the entire load is destroyed. But there is a possibility of pesticide residue that can still exist in conventional milk. So what would your choice be?
Organic Milk would be mine. Especially considering that milk is used in a lot of recipes.
Fruits and vegetables grown organically, certainly would be a positive choice and used in organic food recipes, it feels much safer knowing they are not covered in pesticides.
Did you know that the following veggies and fruits are in the top five produce that when you eat them, the contaminants show up in your body:peaches, apples, bell peppers, celery and nectarines. Onions and avocados score the lowest. More offenders of pesticide carriers are strawberries, cherries, pears, imported grapes, spinach, lettuce and potatoes. If you use organic, once again, you will have reduced approximately 90% of pesticides.
Even in Beef, the director of McGill Office for Science Society and department of chemistry admitted that there are trace amounts of hormones in conventional meat. Beef cattle is raised in a strictly controlled environment that is designed to produce the most meat at the least cost. We can’t blame the cattle rancher as it is simply a smart business decision to stimulate the growth of the rancher’s product. He’s not growing cows for fun. The regulation has to start at the top and the only way to influence the industry is to insist on organic food products. Would you believe that beer and eggs contain even more estrogenic compounds?
I believe that the more often you use a food, you should consider buying organic, especially knowing that eggs have estrogenic compounds in them and we use eggs to cook with frequently.
Organic Food Recipes are definitely the way to go to be healthy.

The most important ingredient in any relationship is attraction, even in the case of Christian singles. These Christian singles are mostly guided by the feeling of whether they are attracted to the other person from the opposite gender. It is this physical attraction that is usually capsulated within the ‘chemistry’ term. It has been postulated that within the Christian dating scene, the term has been vastly misunderstood. The issue is that most female and male Christians have been made aware after they have been engaged in a couple of dates that the chemistry that had been initially there is lost. Then, because the chemistry is absent, they decide to let go the Christian relationship they had been pursuing for another. It becomes an overtly devastating moment in the lives of these Christian singles. Too much emphasis and focus has been put on chemistry in later days as well as physical attraction. There are then some things that all Christian singles must understand as they decide to incorporate chemistry in their relationships. The bible depicts in the Old Testament that most of the marriages were arranged. Jacob comes out as one of the great men of the bible who experienced chemistry towards Rachel, but in the long run he ended up marrying Leah. The society has conditioned us to start laying a lot emphasis on specific physical attributes that are evident on all the Christian singles we come across first. Do not be lied to, it is like enjoying dessert prior to eating your vegetables. It has been well established in the Christian and secular counseling circles that satisfaction of sexual endeavors only grow in tandem with the growth of your relationship. Those individuals who are said to have had chemistry only to lose it after the passage of time never had any chemistry from the onset. Theirs was a fantasy where their attraction was associated with what they felt their connection should be, in comparison with what the reality is. Christian singles using this approach are in their own self-service which is very insulting and is damaging the ego and self-confidence of other singles in the Christian realm. It is paramount to state that, Christian singles being under the guide of this manner must immediately wake up from their unreal world, and start looking for those essential ingredients that come first. Conversely, those Christian singles who demand a sexual compatibility within the closet of a new marriage will most likely be the ones to begin marrying once again and lack it. These people believe and think that every good sexual kind of relationship during their dating instances comes as the best indicator of a perfect sexual endeavor after matrimony. This is a mistake. The fact is that if both the parties in the marriage fail to analyze their lives in trying to decipher the contributing factor towards the devoid of sexual gratification from their first marriage, then the odds are very high that the same thing will be repeated in the lives of these Christian singles.

Just like a hero and a heroine on the movies who sizzle with passion on the big screen, you and your date should have some chemistry on your big night out.
Once you have gotten over the preliminaries of asking for your date’s number and setting up a date, the next problem is what to do when you are already sitting opposite each other on the dinner table.
Men and women alike would like to experience being swept off their feet and feel the natural high of being in love.
However, if your date turns out to be a disaster because you failed to build the chemistry during your date, then you cannot to move on to better things that might have developed between the two of you.
Remember that the first date decides whether you will be given a second chance to get to know more about the person who you are ‘chasing’.
In order to understand how to build chemistry between you and your date, first, you need to somehow understand what goes on behind the giddiness that you feel when finding a new love:
Love makes people do crazy things and act in a certain, love-sick way.
You have all experienced the can’t eat, can’t sleep, I’m obsessed routine when falling in love or finding a new love.
What really goes behind this emotion is too complicated to explain but here is a compromise: a lot of these feelings have to do with our physical make-up and body chemistry.
Scientists believe that all of the emotions associated with finding a new love is further enhanced by natural brain stimulants.
If a person thinks of his or her loved one for a certain period of time, then there will be a higher level of these brain stimulants that would trigger an emotional or physical effect.
This could be lack of sleep or appetite. These effects are associated with the natural stimulants located in the brain.
There is a natural resulting feeling once you see your object of infatuation, and this is the one that can be compared to the high that a person experiences when under the influence of drugs.
On the other hand, it can give you a distressing feeling if you are away from your loved one or if you do not see that person for a certain amount of time.
Understanding where these feelings are coming from can give you a better understanding of the things that you unexpectedly do and experience, once you find a new love.
Passion, Romance and Attachment
It is also believed that there are three stages of a person in love: infatuation or passion, romance and attachment.
Infatuation or passion is that instant lust that zings in your stomach once you see your object of affection.
This can also be associated with lust, or instantaneous attraction. This is the most shallow stage because there is no chance of it developing into something deeper yet.
The second stage is romance. Romance is that need to woo the one that you love.
At this stage, you can say that this is more than just a passing fancy because you are making additional efforts to get to know the one that you love.
Also, at this stage you are giving something of yourself to the other person by showing them ways that you care.
The third and final stage is the attachment stage. This is when you are already an established couple and you feel the need to spend the rest of your life together.
Here, the less passionate stage of your courtship is over and the respect and love that you have for each other will lead you to have a more permanent status as a couple.
This is also when couples would have produced children in the course of their being together. It is said that even this third stage of love is triggered by a natural chemical called oxytocin.
‘Building Chemistry’
It is very important to build chemistry once you are on a date.
Make sure that you keep the conversation light, interesting and flowing. The third one is the most important because having an awkward silence at any point of your date is a no-no. Any conversation is better than no conversation at all. Also, make sure that you start in an honest note by being yourself during your night out together.
It would never hurt to get yourself out there and risk getting hurt, than saving yourself from pain but living to regret your decision of not being with the one that you love for the rest of your life.
Learn how to build chemistry between you and yoru date and you will surely have something great to look forward to: a relationship that you can nurture and build with the one you love.

Isoflavone From Soy May Help Support Female Functions, Fight Cancer, And More!
Filed Under Biochemistry | Leave a Comment
An isoflavone from soy has been evaluated for its effect on various female functions such as the menopause and some effects on estrogens. Soy products have been part of the diet in the Far East for thousands of years, and it is a known fact that these people suffer fewer incidences of conditions such as breast cancer, menopausal problems, rectal cancer and diseases of the heart and joints.
The benefits that such a diet appeared to confer on those taking it initiated many studies into the active constituents of soy, and how the biochemistry involved imparted these benefits. A result of this was an intensification of investigations into many so-called -women’s functions’ or ‘women’s problems’ that hitherto had been accepted as a part of life. Now, however, they are better understood, just as many other components of the Oriental diet are being found to have wider implications in terms of disease prevention and increasing life expectancy. So back to soy and its isoflavone content.
Soy contains a number of isoflavones, commonly known as phyto-estrogens - plant estrogens - because their chemical formula is similar to that of estrogen, a female hormone. Isoflavones possess some properties that support the beneficial properties of estrogens, and others that suppress some of the risk factors possessed by estrogen. We shall discuss here how these isoflavones are related chemically to estrogens, and how they can be used to support some specific female functions.
In order to understand how isoflavones work we go back to the 1980s, when alpha and beta estrogen receptors were discovered. Until then, the biochemistry of estrogen was not fully understood, and problems connected with estrogen had not been fully investigated.
Like all hormones, estrogen works by finding receptors that are located on cells. With regard to estrogen there are two types of receptor. The beta receptors are connected with the beneficial properties of estrogen, while the alpha receptors tend to lead to the unfavorable effects such as cancers related to estrogen. Each of your different tissue types possesses different ratios of these two receptor types.
The unfavorable alpha receptors predominate in tissues such as the breast, ovaries and uterus. The favorable beta receptors predominate in the blood cells, bladder, prostate gland, thymus and bones. Studies have indicated that isoflavones appear to attack to the beta receptors and simulate the beneficial effect of estrogen when the levels of estrogen in the body are low, and allow the proper functioning of these cells in the body.
The alpha cells are also populated by isoflavones, which then protect these areas of your body against cancers that can be stimulated by estrogen, such as cancers of the breast, ovaries and uterus. It appears that cancers that can develop when the alpha receptors are populated by estrogen do not occur when isoflavones have captured them
Isoflavones are present in the form of glucosides. These are composed of sugar and non-sugar components, the latter known as aglycones, and the main isoflavones in soybean are based on the three aglycones genistein, daizein and glycetein. The glucosides are water soluble and are broken down into enzymes known as B-glucosidases in the intestine. This releases the aglycones that can be further metabolized into other substances.
Current studies are examining the possibility that a diet rich in isoflavones taken early in life up to teenage years can reduce the incidence of breast cancer in later years. Isoflavones have been used in the laboratory to reduce the growth of prostate cancer cells, and animal studies have reinforced this finding. The fact that Japanese men suffer less from prostate cancer than those eating diets low in isoflavones also tend to reinforce this connection.
The same mechanism can be used to in prostate cancer by binding to testosterone receptors. Genistein, in particular, can help treat certain types of cancer by inhibiting enzymes such as tyrosine kinase that can become hyperactive and overstimulate the growth of potentially cancerous cells.
It is probable that the estrogen binding facility of isoflavones complements the activity of estrogen in women with low levels of hormone. When the female estrogen level is low, isoflavones can reduce the effects of the menopause and symptoms such as hot flushes and night sweats become less severe. While not all women benefit, it has been found that women with these symptoms tend to suffer less when taking a diet rich in soy foods containing isoflavones.
In addition to its moderating effect on these cancers, and its effect on the menopausal symptoms on many women, soy isoflavones possess a few other beneficial health properties. They are strong antioxidants, and help to support the immune system by mopping up free radicals. They also help to protect from atherosclerosis by preventing the oxidation of LDL cholesterol and depositing it as plaque in the arteries.
There is evidence that isoflavones in the diet can help to maintain strong healthy bones. This is largely through the fact that Chinese women taking a diet rich in soya suffer fewer fractures than those on a low soy diet, but studies are continuing into potential reasons for this. Estrogen receptors in bones regulate bone growth and density. Isoflavones can modulate these receptors and promote greater bone density just like estrogen hormones with out estrogen side effects.
Isoflavones have few dietary sources, the richest being soybeans and other soy products. These are very low in the non-Asian diet, so few people, other than Asians, receive the benefit of these phytochemicals. This is believed to be the major reason for Asians suffering significantly lower rates of certain cancers than non-Asians.
Soy milk and tofu are the richest sources, although there is no standardization of isoflavones in soy-based foodstuffs. This is because the isoflavone content varies according to growing conditions, although a diet containing the recommended quantities of soy foods, such as soy milk or soy beans, together with a low cholesterol diet, should help women to overcome many of the problems associated with excess estrogen, or a lack of it especially when taking in conjunction with essential fatty acids.
Any supplement containing soy will be beneficial to most women, particularly during the menopausal stages, although the effect of isoflavones on certain cancers to which women are susceptible cannot be ignored. Such supplements should therefore be used by all women from at the teens onwards, studies having indicating that an isoflavone-rich diet should be beneficial over the longer term.
Isoflavones from soy is effective in helping to support female functions, although the normal Western diet is traditionally very short in these forms of phytoestrogen. Isoflavones can modulate estrogen receptor sites through out the body helping the body regulate its functions and easy the symptoms related to a estrogen deficient body.
