How can I pass organic chemistry? How can I master the naming and structures?

There is no flow in my class from topic to topic and I fall asleep out of lack of understanding or comprehension of the subject. How can I develop more interest, understanding, stay awake and get a good grade. I really need this biochemistry class. Organic Chemistry is a part of the Biochemistry.

Thats really up to you. Organic chemistry involves alot of memorizing, once you master it, its really easy.
For one, read through the notes that you are given. Practice alot, it will eventually commit to memory and you will be able to see which type of questions are often tested.
Apart from that, I don’t think there’s much I can help you with here.. Good luck in eventually mastering Org. Chem!
I spent more time studying for my chem. class than for all my other classes COMBINED, last semester. Composition, College Algebra, Logic…none of these classes gave me half as much information as Organic Chemistry packed in. I literally spent 2 to 3 hours a day on it. I don’t really know of any shortcuts…except perhaps one.
I made notecards every night after a Chem. class, based on the lecture that was given that day. I would carry them with me every day, where ever I went. I would turn off the radio while I drove, and try to memorize them. I would pull them out when I was in line at the grocery store…etc, etc….
I ended up with a B in the class…it’s the only B I’ve ever gotten in college, and I worked my butt off to get it….

I think it’s very easy and you can achieve to be master in it just by learning few basic fundamentals of nomenclature and mechanism of reactions.
what you need to do is be attentive as much as you can and change your attitude so that you may be able tocapture what is being taught.
also do alot of revision on the particular topic. SUCCESS.
