Rather than choosing a minor based on my interest, what would be a good minor to choose that would be helpful and benefit me for my major, in this case biochemistry? I need ideas. Thanks!

Honestly, it’s not a bad idea to choose a minor based on your interest! I was a biology major and I had two minors: music and English. Go ahead and choose a minor that will help you on a personal level, it will do more help than harm.

But if you want a minor to relate to your major, I would recommend any field of the life sciences… there are different types of biology. Even a general biology minor would be good.
