Im now starting my second year of medical school where biochemistry and physiology dominates.
Im having a hard time with biochemistry, the time just fly by and i dont seem to get anything done.
What is the best and fastets way to learn chemistry?
We have one test a week in chem and two in physio, so i dont have a lot of time to learn.

I’m only in highschool, though I”m doing the IB Higher Level chem course which is considerably more intensive than regular chme. I have the option of choosing an elective subject in my chem class. Either organic chemistry or further physical chemistry. We’ve already done a fair bit of both last year. But now we have to choose. It’ll mostly be energetics and kinetics for p-chem and reactions for o-chem.
My question doesn’t really have to relate to my current situation. I was just wondering in university, which of the two do you consider to be harder? Would someone who majors in biochem have to do p-chem? I know that o-chem is absolutely necessary for biochem.

Could anyone give me some clues on how to succeed in a research project on biochemistry?

I am starting a postgraduate course in biochemistry and haven’t got enough experience with research. I would like to now what makes a good research student, what kind of skills are required, how much should somebody work or read etc.

Next year, I will take organic chemistry. Can anyone recommend any good books to use to study organic chemistry and help me get a basic understanding of it before I take the class?

Right now I have Bruice - Organic Chemistry 5th Edition.
I’m mowtly just looking for regular books to help me learn. I am struggling just learning from just the textbook. The teacher is sometimes hard to understand so I am relying on just one book a bit too much for my liking.

Should I take Biochemistry and physics smultaneously as a premed sophomore?
Filed Under Biochemistry | 1 Comment
I am a premed sophomore, and I completed organic chem, general chem, and biology, so I am planning to take physics and biochemistry for this upcoming spring term.
Is this schedule endurable? Physics in my school is considered as hard as organic chemistry.
I finished organic 1 and 2 during this last summer term by living in the library 11 hours per day.

How hard is organic chemistry?

Organic chemistry 1 and 2 I have to take as a requirement for my major. I don’t feel like I’m really strong in chemistry, but I am good in biology. How is organic chemistry different from general chemistry?
I’ve already taken general biology 1 and 2, microbiology (which touched briefly into a little biochemistry) and I’m currently taking genetics. Do you think if I have a good grasp on these concepts I’ll be ok? I’m doing qualitative analysis right now in general chem 2, it’s just all the formulas to memorize and math equations to do is kicking my butt. Is there this much equations and math in Organic chem?
